My name is Sanjib Das Gupta. Working in Udayan as a Training and Placement coordinator since October 2009. I am Bio-science graduate from Calcutta University. As my father was in a transferable job, it provided me an opportunity to travel across the country. As for my job, I worked in number of companies like DTDC courier and also as a front office executive in Kalyani Brakes unit at Arki in Himachal Pradesh.
Due to family obligations I had to shift my base to Kolkata in 2005 and was associated with an NGO called Agni. I joined Udayan as Training & Placement coordinator from October 2009. My job responsibilities includes coordinating to provide various training to the students of Udayan and subsequently helping them to find job in different organisation. It’s a very challenging as well as fulfilling job. Last year we arranged Nursing training to six Udayan girls and one of our students Archana Mahato joined as a trainee nurse in Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital (Formerly known as Modern Medical Institute) at Raipur with a good starting salary.
I also co-ordinate various in -house training at Udayan like Kantha Stitching, Music and Dance and it helps me interact with the children on personal basis.
Apart from this once a year we visit leprosy colony in various districts of West Bengal for admission of new students.
So being part of the whole cycle …from their admission to Udayan and to their finding suitable jobs and to train them for a normal dignified existence as useful ,contributing member of the society gives me immense satisfaction.
